For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. ~Romans 3:23
There are no questions left by that statement.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Romans 6:23
That verse is amazing. I have sinned, you have sinned, and we justly deserve death. But look at the next part: God has a free gift of eternal life for us! He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to receive the death that we deserved.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. ~John 3:16
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. ~Romans 5:8,9
So God did all that for us. Because He loves us. What do we have to do to take hold of that love that will let us live in heaven for eternity?
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ~Romans 10:9
It’s so simple. He loves us; He wants to save us. And He made it so that we can be.
Life, or death. It's your choice, and it's going to last for eternity
